The Grant-bio DEN-1 is a compact densitometer for measuring the turbidity of cell suspensions in McFarland units. It reads from 0.00 to above 15.00 McF with 0.1 McF resolution and gives a result in just one second.

An LED light source at 565 nm and a factory calibration that is retained without power give reliable readings, and the unit can be user calibrated with commercial McFarland standards or lab-prepared suspensions. It takes 18 mm tubes directly, 16 mm tubes with the included D16 adaptor and 12 mm tubes with the optional A12 adaptor. The low-profile design takes very little bench space.
